My work is a combination of zines & prints that examine my relationship to nature and the idea of nature as both sanctuary and armor. I use landscape theory, ecofeminist themes, Deep Ecology, & modes of disruption such as the glitch to share personal narratives as a bisexual woman while calling attention to the importance of preserving local nature. Each piece holds a taste of my experiences told in a non-linear fashion and wanders through the strain of narrative, humor, & the ephemeral.

My name is Chloe Henderson and I am an Edinburgh-based interdisciplinary artist. I make art inspired by the natural world, mythological creatures, faerytales, nerd culture, and the radical idea that humans should be kind to every living thing. I am one half of Coin-Operated Press, and when we are not running workshops and hosting zine fairs, I make zines inspired by my experiences with anxiety, love, feminism, geocaching, and cats! In my spare time I tame unicorns and swim with mermaids.

The zines I have made previously have all been illustrative with a small story line, but no text. I'd like to make some zines (also for this con) that has some text in them, like descriptions of objects for a knick knack zine for example. Aside from little stories I'm also drawn to zines that are collections of things such as outfits, objects like rocks, sketchbook pages ect. I'm also interested in life story type zines as well.

Maybe also some print some photos, as I also do photography.

The zines I create range from per zines, instructional zines, comics and art books. I like to bring my fine arts practice into my zine making through the media of art books. Art books are one of a kind and each zine is unique. They feature hand painted or drawn pages. This is in contrast to the rest of my zines which are all copies of the original. Thematically my zines range from art making, slice of life, mental health and queerness.

My black-and-white zines feature a combination of my poetry or prose alongside traditional art. They are personal, exploring themes such as neurodivergence, gender, and recovery from unhealthy relationships. As examples, one zine, "Primordial Evil" is an exploration of gender dysphoria, sensory difficulties, and moral relativism. Another zine, "I Have Considered the Lilies" pairs visuals with the lyrics of a Connie Converse song as a tribute to the artist.

I liked to combine art and writing, and most of my zines are exploration of things fantastical in nature with characters or creations that tell a story. Some are compilations of things I've made for my Dungeons and Dragons games. Others showcase characters with designs and features based on fantasy in general.
