Welcome to KC Zine Con #7

KC Zine Con #7 is a hybrid event, with opportunities to participate both in-person and virtually. Join us on Saturday, June 11th (in-person) at Plexpod Westport Commons from 11am to 5pm and (virtually) at kczinecon.com for a zine convention celebrating small press creators and DIY artists in KC (and beyond!) This year’s beautiful poster art was designed by Ani Mal.

 

Programming

We have 4 awesome workshops lined up for you today that we’ll be livestreaming on our Youtube page. Check back on this page when each program starts; we’ll be embedding the videos here for you to watch:

🌟11am – 11:45am: Journal Comics 101 with Max Dlabick🌟: This workshop will get you started in making Journal Comics, from looking at some examples to setting personal goals for what a Journal Comic habit looks like for you.

🌟Noon – 1:00pm: Digizines with Dayna Moth🌟: Dayna Moth will walk you thru a variety of programs (both free, like Zine Machine or Google Docs, and paid, like Adobe Photoshop) and will show you how to use them for zinemaking.

🌟1:45pm – 2:30pm: Zine Clinic Q and A with Neither/nor Zine Distro, Nash High, and Eternia Press
: Practice advanced zine templates and get your zine-making questions answered by some of KCZC’s favorite contributors!

🌟2:30pm – 5:00pm: Zine-Making Free-for-All and Programming Re-runs (In-Person Only!)🌟: Missed out on one of the workshops from earlier in the day? No worries, swing by 1N and we’ll be replaying the recordings! We’ll also have a bunch of zine supplies out, so you can make a zine while you soak in the knowledge.

🌟5:00pm – 6:00pm: Poetry Zines with Ash (Virtual Only!)🌟: Learn about poetry zines and learn how to write your own.
Unfortunately, due to a health issue, this workshop has been rescheduled! New date/time TBA!
